Homemade sheet metal brake from DIY plans. Bend aluminum or steel body panels used for aviation, homebuilt aircraft, marine and auto body projects. Manual includes tricks for bending thicker material with lengths  under 48" (i.e.   1/8" thick by 6" wide strips  etc.)
Weight : 98-103 lb.'s
Shipping weight for assembled brake is ~ 125 lb.
Material: Mild Steel
This is a common low cost grade of steel. Great welding
properties and machines well.
Welding: 1/2-3/4 hour electric welding
TIG or MIG recommended to reduce distortion. Stick weld with  care. ( "skip" weld and take your time )
Radius: knife edge - 1/8"
For aluminum 1/8" radius - knife edge for steel
Building Time: weekend project
( 4 - 8 ) hours depending on available tools and builder experience
